Break out your violin because I’m about to change my tune.
I cannot and will not vote for Senator Hillary Clinton if she wins the nomination for the Democratic Party. Her campaign has been muddied by behavior that I consider to be inappropriate for a potential President. See examples below. It is true that politics is a bloody sport. But it doesn’t have to be. And the Democratic primary season illustrates why the current Congress, although now lead by Democrats, remains stagnant on many issues.
- Infusion of Racism
- Defamation of Character
- Dishonest Discourse
- Double-talk
Considering the sacrifices that were made for the right to vote, I am not saying that I am abandoning the privilege. But I do believe that if I am to support anyone, I must stand up for what I think is right. And that value may lead me to the right of left. Stay tuned.
The DNC announce today (3/6/08) that it will permit Michigan and Florida an opportunity to "do-over" in order to sit their delegates. We know that Clinton, whose name was the only Democrat on the ballot, won the states. And, unlike Obama, she campaigned in the states dispite the DNC disqualifying their primaries a year ago.
I agree, I may have cast my only vote for the white house in the primary. To be fair, though, Obama's recent exposure about NAFTA and the Canadian Officials has me questioning his presence in the oval office.
