Economic Attention

Beyond the obsession with gossip and divisiveness, beyond the tickers and bullet points, and beyond the ignorance of President George Bush, are the economic struggles of the American people.  Finally, Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are shifting their focus to the economy.  Senator Hillary Clinton gave a speech on the economy in North Carolina today.  And Senator Barack Obama gave one this morning in New York.  Check out Senator Barack Obama’s speech below.  I doubt if it will be analyzed much, if at all, by the fake wanna-be news personalities.  The economy, although deemed as the most important issue for Americans, doesn’t provide the same ratings as a ranting Rev. Wright.

I cannot and will not vote for Senator Hillary Clinton if she wins the nomination for the Democratic Party.  Her campaign has been muddied by behavior that I consider to be inappropriate for a potential President.  See examples below.  It is true that politics is a bloody sport.  But it doesn’t have to be.  And the Democratic primary season illustrates why the current Congress, although now lead by Democrats, remains stagnant on many issues.

Considering the sacrifices that were made for the right to vote, I am not saying that I am abandoning the privilege.  But I do believe that if I am to support anyone, I must stand up for what I think is right.  And that value may lead me to the right of left.  Stay tuned.
